grading policy

There will be no examination.

Your final grade will be computed based on the following factors:

Problem Set 2	10%
Problem Set 3	10%
Problem Set 4	10%
Presentation	10%
Research Paper	60%

Extra credit will be awarded for participation in class and the Internet discussion group, to be added after the final grade has been computed. Under no circumstances will participation improve the final grade by more than 2/3 of a grade (e.g., from B- to B+).
